This week, before reading Inside Out  a story about doing the right thing, Grade 5 spoke about the power of words and how hearing unkind or negative things about ourselves makes us feel, compared to when we hear positive and kind things. Then, the students each received a post-it note with another student’s name on it. They were asked to write something kind on the note about that student. As they finished, they posted their note on the board. One group at a time, the students were then called up to find their note to read and either keep on their desk, or wherever they wanted to save it! Check out the photos from the powerful lesson below!
