The students in Grade 7 and Grade 8 concluded their celebration of National Poetry Month by exploring the contemporary poetry form, SLAM. SLAM poetry often covers timely topics and is highly performative and the students jumped right in! Middle School Language Arts and Religion Teacher, Ms. Essman encouraged the students to explore their creative writing in this powerful, modern form.
