Did you know that OLMC has one of the most active Student Council’s in the Archdiocese of Newark? Led by program moderator, Mrs. Toni Essman, the student council of OLMC are elected by their peers every Spring and kick into high gear every Fall by leading timely service drives, representing our Academy as ambassadors and host events that build our school Warrior Spirit! Check out the newly elected officers and representatives and check out just a small sampling of some of the great things the students do!
Service Projects and Events:
– Raise money for an awning in a sister-school in Houston, TX
– Collect items for “One Box – One Soldier”
– Veterans Day & International Day ceremonies
– Created the Homework Club in which 7 th & 8 th graders tutor younger students
– Penny-Drop Challenge to raise money for various charities
– Sponsor Candy Grams and Ice Cream Socials
– Support a school in Kenya – built a fence to keep lions out, helped build a library
– Raise money for St. Jude’s Children Hospital, Smile Train, and Heart Foundation
– Support Daffodils Day for the Cancer Society
– Hold various bake sales, Casual Carmel Days and food drives for the Office of Concern, the Siena House and St. Simon Stock in the Bronx
