The Academy of Our Lady of Mount Carmel is building an outdoor, rooftop, Olympic-sized swimming pool! The new saltwater pool will be the home of the Warrior Swimming Team! Newly minted OLMC swim coach Ms. Gerlach says, “Listen, there’s two things I do: Eat turkey sandwiches and win swimming championships, and I’m all out of turkey sandwiches!” Ms. O’Farrill is a little less than thrilled. “Look, I’m all for a swimming pool.” She begins. “But what if we get leaks? The MakerSpace could be flooded!” The Academy’s principal doesn’t seem concerned. “Friday pool parties are coming to OLMC!” she shouted! OLMC pastor Fr. Richard says, “It’ll be easier to bless Holy Water now!” Mr. G is going to add choreographed swimming to the theater curriculum.
Mr. McElroy and the construction team are getting started this week. Make sure to visit the pool when it is ready, it is on the third floor of the Academy, have a great Spring Break and oh yeah… April Fools Day!
