Dear Friends:

Ms. Barbara Verdonck, Principal

National Catholic Schools Week, our annual celebration of what makes education at the Academy of Our Lady of Mount Carmel outstanding, starts with an Open House on Sunday, January 28th from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. We have a whole week of activities planned to show what our students are accomplishing and to celebrate the community we have built to educate tomorrow’s citizens and church leaders.

The theme of our celebration is “United in Faith and Community.” The theme encompasses the core products and values that can be found in Catholic schools across the country. Not only are we teaching students to become future servant leaders, faith-filled disciples and enriched citizens in our communities, educators are growing with them. In Catholic schools, we are all learners, servants and leaders. These shared qualities are what make Catholic schools work. They are what make Catholic schools succeed.

The theme also focuses on key elements of Catholic education: faith development, academic excellence and dedication to service. These elements set Catholic schools apart from other educational options. Here at the Academy we are blessed to have a state-of-the-art MakerSpace and Science Lab and we’re proud to say we have alumni in the finest high schools and colleges in the country, but other schools can have those things too. But it’s the community that is built at convocation each and every day that is the OLMC difference. This is why families make sacrifices to provide their children with a Catholic education.

Please encourage your friends and neighbors, particularly those who may be considering Catholic education for their children to stop by and experience our OLMC community. For more information please reach out to Mrs Eileen Walsh at 201-567-6491 or ewalsh@nullacademyolmc.org

I am grateful every day for the teachers, staff, board members, parents and volunteers who make our school a success. National Catholic Schools Week is a good time for all of us to thank them for their dedication and service.
