Dear OLMC Family,

At the start of the school year we prepared for the worst and prayed and hoped for the best.  We prayed that COVID-19 would slowly subside and not affect our loved ones, especially our children and our staff who continue each day to help our children grow and learn in God’s love.  Unfortunately, this has not happened and we are facing a battle.  A battle we will win, but we must work together to do so.

Principal, Ms. Barbara Verdonck

I have discussed with our own Back To School Task Force, as well as the Archdiocese of Newark, the best way for us to continue to safely learn.  Given the rising COVID-19 cases in Bergen County and in our own school community, we will continue to work remotely next week with the plan to tentatively open the week of December 14th.

The faculty and I understand the extra burden this is placing on you and we know it is not easy.  We are faced with these same burdens within our own families. I ask all families to please remain cautious and vigilant and continue to practice safety techniques including wearing masks at least 2 or more layers thick, hand washing, as well as practice social distancing 6 feet or more from others.  Most importantly, please be honest about travel and exposures with us.  I also highly encourage families to limit gatherings to their own households and avoid play-dates at this time.  I understand this is a difficult request especially during the holidays and especially for our children who only want to be children.  However, we can only succeed if we work together as a team for the safety of our entire OLMC family – our children, our parents, our grandparents and our faculty and staff.

Our goal is to keep everyone safe and to have our children continue to have the best education possible.  We all pray that one day we can all gather together in person as a school community.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at bverdonck@nullacademyolmc.org or call the school office at 201-567-6491.

Stay safe Warriors!!

Sincerely,

Ms Verdonck
