Dear OLMC Families,

Interim Principal, Ms. Barbara Verdonck

Happy November!

Wow! Where has the time gone? We are now well into the beauty of the fall and starting to experience the cooler weather. Our first two months were filled with many things to celebrate and be thankful for.

First, I am thankful for your children. I love getting to know our students. My goal this month (and hopefully throughout the school year) is to meet with students in a variety of small groups. This will give me the opportunity to connect with students and gain insight, from their perspective, about how we are doing as a school. I value their thoughts and opinions because I feel it is important that their educational experience at OLMC be the best. It is a privilege to be a part of their educational development and watch them mature during their time here with us.

I am thankful to our parents. It is because of you and our commitment to work together that truly makes OLMC the great place it is. It is great to see so many of you helping at lunchtime, joining us for Community Day/Night, participating in our fundraisers, and generally just being a positive influence for our kids. I encourage more parents to get involved, be it one day, one hour, or one class presentation in your area of expertise.  Thank you so much for your help and support.

I am thankful for our faculty and staff. Day in, day out, night and day, they are truly remarkable individuals that come together as a team with common goals. They are committed. They meet the needs of their students by providing a variety of teaching strategies, methods, and techniques. They engage and motivate their students with the understanding that each child learns differently.

On behalf of the faculty, staff, and administration of OLMC, may you and your families be blessed on Thanksgiving and throughout the rest of the year.

In closing, let’s keep in mind the words of Bill Bradley…

“Respect your fellow human being, treat them fairly, disagree with them honestly, enjoy their friendship, explore your thoughts about one another candidly, work together for a common goal and help one another achieve it.”

Go Warriors!

Have a wonderful November!
