November 17, 2021

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Principal, Ms. Barbara Verdonck

I can’t believe we are almost at the end of November and our 1st trimester. The first few months of school have been so exciting. It was great to see the Odyssey Theater open up again as well as welcoming back our sports program. Our hope is to keep the momentum going and, as always, we need your help and support.

With the upcoming holiday season and the need to keep our OLMC family safe, we need your cooperation and communication to report and follow all safety and travel plans. Below are the protocols that we have and will continue to follow.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.

Have a safe and blessed Thanksgiving!

Ms Verdonck

Domestic Travel

For those traveling to or from New Jersey, domestic travel is considered to be any travel lasting 24 hours or longer to any U.S. states or territories other than Pennsylvania, New York, and Delaware.

Unvaccinated individuals who do travel should get tested 1-3 days before their trip and 3-5 days after travel. Even if they test negative, the CDC recommends unvaccinated individuals stay home and self-quarantine for 7 days after domestic travel, and for 10 days if they are unable to test.

Fully vaccinated individuals do not need to get tested or self-quarantine after travel. However, the CDC recommends fully vaccinated individuals self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms, and isolate and get tested if they develop symptoms.

Fully vaccinated means two weeks or more after an individual has received the second dose in a two-dose series, or two weeks or more after they have received a single-dose vaccine.

International Travel

After arrival to the United States, all travelers should get tested with a COVID-19 viral test 3-5 days after travel, self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms, and isolate and get tested if they develop symptoms. Unvaccinated travelers should stay home and self-quarantine for a full 7 days, even if they test negative, and for 10 days if they are unable to test.

We will follow the above protocols since it is what the CDC recommends.

Example: For Both Domestic and International Travel

Unvaccinated: If you return from your trip on Sunday, November 28, 2021, your child can return to school on Monday, December 6, 2021 with a negative test result (which was taken within the last 5 days). If your child does not get tested, he/she can return on Thursday, December 9, 2021.
