The students in Grade 5 took a virtual field trip to the Thanksgiving Day Parade. We learned about the history of how the parade started, who began the idea for the inflatables, the science behind how they stay in the air, and how they are designed! We know the parade may be different this year, but we also learned this is not the first time there was a change in the parade. During 1942-1944, the parade was stopped so the rubber could be used for the war effort. Once we “returned”’from our trip, the class then had the opportunity to complete a google slideshow and add their own ideas for the parade. Check out the photos below!
