We are thrilled to highlight an exciting and important change in the 4th grade classroom. As you know, keeping children engaged and focused for extended periods of time can be difficult. Research shows that students (and adults) are able to focus and produce better quality work when they are comfortable and allowed to move. Therefore, to enhance our teaching methods and student engagement, we are incorporating flexible seating in the 4th grade classroom. This seating change includes a variety of workspace options for students so they can work comfortably and perform at their best during class.

Ultimately, flexible seating is good for students and allows them to reflect on their movement and workspace needs, offer options to promote success, and innately engage all students.

Some examples of flexible seating: Standing desks, wobble stools, balance balls, bean bag chairs, and cushions

We are excited for the class to experience this opportunity and to witness the positive effects of this change. Check out the photos below!
