All Academy students benefit from our science program LabLearner™, a 100% research-based, comprehensive, hands-on science education system aimed at illuminating and clarifying science in a way that is most understood and retained by students. Our Science curriculum combines scientific evidence with proven classroom best practices to create a science program that is easily absorbed and applied. The program aims to promote interaction and experimentation in a laboratory setting to encourage diverse learning and thinking strategies, and foster a community atmosphere of learning!

  • January 29, 2020 — 8 - Sound Waves & Pressure TEST

  • January 31, 2020 — 8 - Sound Waves & Pressure Performance Assessment and SDR Due

    8th grade will do the Performance Assessment in lab on Thursday, January 30th. The completed Performance Assessment and the Sound Waves & Pressure SDR will be due from each student on Friday, January 31st.
  • January 31, 2020 — 6 - Atmosphere - Layers of the Atmosphere Worksheet

    Distributed on January 22, along with two pages of background information for students to read and use to complete the worksheet.
  • January 31, 2020 — 6 - Atmosphere Vocabulary

    Distributed on January 22.
  • February 5, 2020 — 6 - 7 - 8 STEM FAIR PROJECTS COMPLETE, READY TO PRESENT IN CLASS

    Students must have all components of their STEM Fair project complete and ready to present to their classmates. This is one week in advance of the STEM Fair. This due date will allow students to do a "trial run" before the event on February 12th so they can make any adjustments or changes that are needed.

  • February 12, 2020 — OLMC's Second Annual STEM FAIR
    Students in 6th-8th grade will present their STEM projects to judges during the school day. In the evening, parents and families are invited to come and experience the amazing projects our students have created. More details to come very soon!
  • March 18, 2020 — Immaculate Heart Academy Science Olympiad 4:00-6:00 PM
    IHA's Science Olympiad offers a variety of science topic competitions for 6th-8th grade students who love science! We will be bringing a mix of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade girls and boys to participate. More details to come!
