All Academy students benefit from our science program LabLearner™, a 100% research-based, comprehensive, hands-on science education system aimed at illuminating and clarifying science in a way that is most understood and retained by students. Our Science curriculum combines scientific evidence with proven classroom best practices to create a science program that is easily absorbed and applied. The program aims to promote interaction and experimentation in a laboratory setting to encourage diverse learning and thinking strategies, and foster a community atmosphere of learning!

  • January 22, 2019 — 6 - Atmosphere Investigation 1

    Read Investigation #1 in your SDR so that you are ready to perform the investigation on Tuesday, January 22.

  • January 22, 2019 — 6 - 7 - 8 Optional Extra Credit

    Offered on January 15, students have the opportunity to write a 3-5 paragraph essay on the old Tappan Zee Bridge and the new Mario Cuomo Bridge that is replacing it. This assignment incorporates Science, Engineering, research, and writing. It is designed to provide students with an opportunity to improve both their quiz average and their overall average in Science. Please note: No extra credit assignments will be accepted after January 22.
  • January 23, 2019 — 7 - STEM Project Forms (5), Product Prototype, Display and Brochure Prototypes

    5 forms assigned on 1/16: Materials List, Brainstorming Summary, Prototype Testing and Data Tracker, Project Task Planner, Daily Summary Form. I need to SEE physical proof of progress on your brochure, your tri-fold board, and your product prototype on or before 1/23. Remember: I had assigned the proof of progress on the board, brochure and prototype to be ready on 1/16 -- and a couple groups had nothing to show! You may email pictures to me over the next several days if you are working on these elements outside of school.
