National Catholic Schools Week (CSW) is an annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. At OLMC we are showcasing what makes our Catholic Academy so special. Saturday, February 1, 2020 is SERVICE ON SATURDAYS, a Winter Family Service event. Serve alongside your children to be a great example and for those students who need them, collect Community Service Hours. Volunteer sites are St. Anastasia’s Church ( 1095 Teaneck Rd. Teaneck, NJ 07666) (children must be at least 12 years old) and right here at OLMC (children must be 3 years and older).! Parents must accompany children. Families that are serving at OLMC are making a lot of sandwiches, so are asked to bring 1 pound of cold cuts per person, 1 pound of cheese, 1 pound of turkey and 2 loaves of white bread. This is physical work. Must dress for comfort and the weather, must wear closed toe shoes. While you may not need to, both sites require possibly lifting of five pounds.

Pre K 3 / Pre K 4 / Kindergarten
The early childhood center will be bringing in the ingredients to make Stone soup! We will be reading the beloved classic as a group and then add the ingredients as we read the story. Once the soup is finished we will all get to try it! Yum!
Grade 1
Revisiting their previous science units, they’ll be working on STEM activities that focus on light, sound, heat, and our five senses. Students will participate in teacher led STEM activities and discover more about their previous science units.
Grade 2
Working together the students will be making a class quilt to celebrate and honor their Academy!
Grade 3
It’s Spelling Bee time, as the Warriors compete to see who can be the top Bee in this hive!
Grade 4
After reading the story , So You Want to be President? The students will present a caricature of a President and presentation. All week long we’ll be honoring our Presidents with speeches and presentations!
Grade 5
Throughout the week during Mrs. Falcicchio’s math classes students will be working in groups of two to create their very own board games.
Grade 6
During Language Arts, all students will create an acrostic poem about Mount Carmel. Also, they will construct a gratitude tree and list the reasons that are thankful for OLMC.
Grade 7
The annual Domino Challenge for all the classes will be held on Wednesday! Can the Warriors assemble the longest, unbroken chain yet? Using Math and a bit of patience we’re going to find out!
Grade 8
The Franciscan Sisters visit the Class of 2020 in a special day of sharing stories of faith-filled learning!
