Dear Warrior Nation,
OLMC Basketball enjoyed a wonderful season last year and we look forward to continuing our winning tradition this year. Prior to registration, we wanted to give you an update on some changes that have occurred within the league.
OLMC will continue to be a part of the Northern Valley Parochial School Basketball League (NVPSBL) for the 2017/2018 season. There is new leadership within the league and a renewed commitment to the love of basketball, community and sportsmanship.
New leadership brings change to any program, here are some of them:
The Wee division will consist of 4th grade teams only. Many parishes felt that the 2nd/3rd grade teams did not possess a strong enough skill set to warrant participating in a game schedule. OLMC will approach this new decision in two ways:
- Any 3rd grade that wishes to play on the 4th grade team may do so. If there are enough players registered, we will enter two equal teams into the league. Please remember that most opposing teams will be 4th grade only.
- We are working on developing a clinic for those 2nd and 3rd grade players that would like to continue to improve their basketball skill set. Real game scenarios included.
A home team schedule will be set for all teams. For example, each home Varsity Boys – Blue game will be played Sundays @ 1:30 p.m.
Recognizing that same teams did not play as many games as others last season, the league is working toward a 10-14 game schedule for each team. The specific schedule will depend on the number of teams in each division and will include playing teams more than once
Once again, we look forward to an exciting basketball season. Details will be coming regarding Open Gym/Registration night.
