Beginning on September 19th the Academy will begin our new detention policy. Any student that receives a detention for any violation as stated in our Parent / Student Handbook (i.e. uniform infractions, disrespect, etc.) will attend detention during recess the day, or closest day of their infraction. All parents of students that receives a detention will be notified. Students in Grades 1-3 will sit out for their allotted time during recess with their classes meanwhile students in Grades 4-8 will attend detention with Mr. Guerra in his homeroom during the entirety of their recess time.
While any discipline infraction is an inconvenience it is our hope that by students receiving discipline in a quick and structured manner it will help clarify our discipline policies and bring much needed consistency in helping our students achieve their academic and personal goals.
