In celebration of Black History Month, the students in Grade 6 added to their diverse curriculum by exploring the writing and artistry of black comic book artists and writers. Students in Grade 6 explored the work of artist Brian Stelfreeze and writer Ta-Nehisi Coates’ critical and commercial successful run of Marvel’s Black Panther. Students explored the importance of world-building in writing and concepts like Afro-futurism through worksheets and videos.  Check out the photos below.
