Ms. Edelmann

On May 5, 2020 Ms. Edelmann received the news that she had been selected as a member of the 2020 Regeneron STEM Teaching Fellowship.  This competitive 16-month fellowship is comprised of academic coursework at the graduate level, research mentorship, a STEM Leadership project in the spring of 2021, and an on-site research experience at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals in Tarrytown, NY in July of 2021. Ms. Edelmann is one of only ten teachers nationwide selected to enter this year’s program

The Regeneron STEM Teaching Fellowship is a unique collaboration between the STEM Leadership Center, Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Teachers College Of Columbia University, NASA Endeavor through U.S Satellite Laboratory.
Fellows learn to apply research-based, STEM teachingl strategies including inquiry and design practices and STEM content in the classroom.  Fellows learn how to use modern scientific tools and equipment in a professional setting, and how bio-tech research is applied to solve problems in human health. Fellows return to the classroom with a greater understanding of the skills young people need to pursue college and careers in STEM fields.  At the end of the 16-month period, Fellows will be awarded a Certificate in STEM Leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University.
