Dear OLMC Parents,

During our opening faculty meeting at the beginning of the 2019-2020 academic year, our Interim Principal, Ms. Barbara Verdonck announced, “This year, we’re putting students first!” How true that seems to be for us, as we’ve seen the sleepy, summer Academy building swell with student activity. Whether it is our active Student Council led by Ms. Essman, cheering on elite-level Volleyball, chaperoning our students on half-a-dozen field trips or our Grade 8 students taking First Place at the St. Joseph’s Scholastic Olympics this past week, OLMC students are leading the way this year!

Now it is time to run with them! This fall offers several opportunities for parents to get involved and place their children and their academic and social experience first! Whether it is encouraging co-workers and loved ones to purchase delicious pies and cakes or a coupon book, attending our first-ever Karaoke Night or saving a life by giving blood. Each of these events enriches your OLMC experience! The only way to guarantee a great experience for your student is to get involved!

We know it is possible because we’ve already seen it! From packing the Englewood Ben and Jerry’s location on a rainy night for ice cream or seeing over 50 families serve together on our first Service on Saturday (SOS) project you, the parents of OLMC are starting the year with a powerful example to their Warrior.

Here’s how to help, click HERE to our Resources Page and click on all the resources available!

I encourage you to share this post with all these important links to this Fall’s most important events. On November 11, 2019 at 6:15 p.m. we are offering an evening Parents Guild meeting for those parents that work, we hope to see you there. I also hope you reach out to meet with me or any other faculty or staff member to let us know how you and your child’s OLMC experience is going this year and go Warriors!

I’ll be seeing you,

Elliot Guerra
