This week, November 8-14, 2020 is “Discover Catholic Schools Week” around the country! Parents, teachers, students and other community members play a vital role in Catholic education. Not only do they work and volunteer at the Academy, they instill values and expectations for academic excellence in their children at home. "Speaking as a graduate of Our Lady of Mount Carmel I can say that this school holds a very special place in my heart. I have made countless memories and friendships over the years. OLMC taught me so much and I am forever grateful. When I would wake up in the morning to go to school, I was so excited and couldn't wait to get into the building to see my teachers and friends. This just goes to show you how much of a second home OLMC was for me. I am Mt. Carmel! I will always be Mt. Carmel!"

In the spring of 2015, shortly after I had accepted a position as OLMC's Youth Minister and Middle School Religion teacher, Sr. Nora Lohan greeted me after mass with the words "welcome home." OLMC has always been my home; it's the place where I took my first steps in a lifelong journey of academic and spiritual learning, and it's the place where some of my most cherished friendships were born. But most importantly, Mount Carmel has taught me to be part of a larger family of believers who are striving towards the Love and Happiness beyond all worlds."
